The Dial

The Sinn 6000 shouts out very loud where it comes from by saying "Frankfurt am Main" directly underneath the Sinn logo at the twelve o'clock position on the Dial. This watch is dedicated to Frankfurt as an important location for the euopean financial business with its stock exchange, the home of the european central bank and many other financial institutes. And as a watch for international acting dealers, who have to have an eye on different markets around the world, it can tell time of three different timezones, so one can set it up to New York, Frankfurt and Tokio time for example. The first timezone is read from the standard, tritium filled hour and minute hands. An additional arrow-headed hour hand can be set to a second timezone. It can be advanced in one hour steps by pulling the crown at three o'clock to the 2nd position and turning it clockwise. And the third time can be told by using the bidirectional rotating inner bezel and one of the two hour hands. Which hour hand to use depends on the personal preferences of the watch owner. The bezel is adjusted by the second crown located at the ten o'clock position.

Additionally to all the timezones, the watch also has a flyback chronograph. The chronographs subdials are the minute counter at the three o'clock position, the hour counter at six o'clock and the center mounted second counter. There is also a small second at nine o'clock. I especially like the position of the date window, which is located between the four and five o'clock markers.
And now, after all the technical description of the watch functions, to something more emotional: the look and apperance of the dial. First of all it is a very shiny black dial, colored by a galvanic process. The subdials are somewhat guilloched and the numbers and indexes are printed. An exception are the applied tritium filled hour indicators. The dial looks magnificent but the hands which are not filled with tritium (The second hour hand, the Chronograph hands and the small second) are almost invisible under certain light conditions.
I hope the pictures can tell something about the nice light effects caused by the fine-circled lines in the subdials, the amazing look of the black dial with the applied markers and the shiny silver colored hands. There is also a very good anti-glare finish on both sides of the crystal, which makes it almost invisible under certain light conditions and additionally improves the precious look of the deep black dial. An absolutely stunning watch.
